On August 26, 2026, two KERUN projects completed scientific and technological achievement evaluations organized by the China Heat Treatment Association (CHTA):
Both projects were assessed as internationally advanced overall, with several key technologies recognized as internationally leading. The results reflect KERUN’s continued progress in developing proprietary heat treatment media technologies and translating them into industrial applications.

The evaluation committee was led by Research Fellow Pan Lin, Director of the CHTA Expert Committee. It also included Professor Gu Jianfeng of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Research Fellow Tong Xiaohui of Beijing Heat Treatment Technology Co., Ltd., Professor Luo Xinmin of Jiangsu University, Professor Pan Ye of Southeast University, Research Fellow Chen Baoguo, Chief Process Engineer at Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Senior Engineer Wu Qiong, Deputy General Manager of Wafangdian Bearing Co., Ltd.
The evaluation session was chaired by Dr. Shi Xiangdong, Deputy Secretary-General of CHTA.
During the meeting, KERUN presented the technical development, industrial application and commercialization of both projects. The committee then reviewed the projects through technical discussions and a detailed Q&A session.

The KR468G project focused on the coordinated control of cooling performance and surface brightness during bearing quenching.
The committee concluded that KR468G enables the precise design of quenching oil cooling performance while maintaining effective brightness control. The project also provides valuable technical guidance for the refined and application-specific development of quenching oils.
The project was assessed as internationally advanced overall. Its component-balance design method for controlling cooling performance and its integrated wetting, protection and purification technology were recognized as internationally leading.
The KR9988 project addressed the controlled cooling requirements of large forgings after forging.
According to the committee, the technologies and product developed through the project have advanced post-forging controlled cooling and filled a gap in China’s domestic technology landscape.
The project was assessed as internationally advanced overall. Its synergistic use of polymers and non-inverse-solubility components, together with its polymer graft modification technology, was recognized as internationally leading.
Although the two projects serve different applications, they follow the same innovation path: identifying practical manufacturing challenges, developing targeted technologies and validating their value through industrial application.
Closing a domestic technology gap addresses the availability of critical products and solutions. Reaching an internationally leading level in key technologies demonstrates the ability to establish proprietary technical strengths. Industrial application further confirms that these innovations can deliver value in real manufacturing environments.
The evaluation marks another milestone in KERUN’s development of heat treatment media. Moving forward, KERUN will continue to focus on practical process requirements and develop precise, stable and application-specific industrial media solutions that support manufacturing quality and technological progress.
